Geneva airport takes off with Armatherm™

Armatherm's innovative thermal break products have been selected by manufacturer of metal structures, Metalúrgica del Deza, S.A.' Sese, to supply thermal bridge solutions for Geneva Airport’s new solar panels.

The Armatherm 500-490, was installed between the main structure and the substructure, which supports solar panels. This eradicates any potential thermal bridging issues that can occur when a building's envelope is penetrated to add an external fixture or extension.

Any addition to a building envelope that infiltrates the walls, such as balconies, extensions and external fixtures allows energy and temperatures to transfer through, which can be prevented with the inclusion of an effective thermal break.

Not averse to an unusual specification, Armatherm has been incorporated in a number of applications where the product has been altered to perfectly suit the project. This job was no different with the thermal breaks being manufactured to a 300mm diameter as well as requiring counterbore holes due to the space restrictions for the connection.

The full Armadillo product range includes the Armatherm™ Z-Girt, Armatherm™FRR and Armatherm™ 500 series structural thermal break materials.
