Break resources

Our website offers a range of resources including test reports, technical literature, design guidance and product profile videos. CAD drawings are also available for direct integration into your project plans.

We also provide an easy-to-follow online thermal breaks webinar covering the basics of thermal bridging – what it is, how it occurs and effective prevention strategies. The course compares building assemblies with and without thermal breaks to demonstrate their impact on thermal transmittance values.

Made from reinforced thermoset resin, Armatherm™ FRR delivers low thermal conductivity and high compressive strength. Its composition offers advantages such as limited combustibility and reduced creep under load, making it ideal for structural connections seeking improved energy performance.

By reducing heat transfer through a building’s thermal envelope, FRR contributes to lowering energy consumption and mitigates condensation risks that can cause mould, corrosion and other damage. Armatherm™ FRR is available in sheets, washers and bushings, with various thicknesses to meet U-value requirements of the project. Sheets can be bonded to create custom thicknesses and components are precision-cut to your specification.

Adding thermal breaks at bolt heads, between the steel washer and the exterior steel face, further prevents bridging through fasteners, enhancing efficiency and reducing the risk of condensation.

Armatherm™ 500 is a closed-cell polyurethane thermal break manufactured in various densities, that has minimal water absorption and low creep under load. Available in several R-value options, it reduces heat loss through envelope connections such as parapets, slab edges, roof penetrations, balconies and window sills. It can be supplied in sheets or pre-cut and drilled to your specifications.

This non-metallic Z-girt is designed for exterior wall assemblies, new or retrofit, on wood, steel, CMU, or concrete substrates. Made from fibre-reinforced plastic, it improves wall thermal efficiency and supports most cladding systems while providing up to 75% better performance than traditional steel girts. When used alongside other Armatherm™ thermal break products, wall assemblies can achieve efficiency levels of up to 98% with reduced condensation risk.
